Super Blanket!

So last week Z had to have a little surgery. So Rachel asked me if i could make him a special blanket for him to have when he goes.  She already had Zebra fleece (Zebras are his favorite animal) but wanted to add big Z to it out of fabric. Well the date of the surgery snicks up on us so two days before it hits us that it was Thursday. So Tuesday when I got off I went strait home to brain storm and come up with the perfect Z for it. That's when I remember that all last week he has had me drawing superhero symbols.  Batman is his favorite, but knew i'd not be able to put a big Z on a bat.  So I decided to do a Superman triangle with a Z but make the Z out of batman fabric.

Here are the pictures i thought to take as I was making it.

I drew this up so i could take a picture to send Rachel for approval before going to the store for fabric.

Was so excited to find batman fabric with out the villains.

Here is the Superman triangle after i got it sewn. I found a Z on line and cut out the Z and blew it up on the copier so i could trace cut it.

And the Z sewn onto the Superman triangle, oh and this is the first time i've ever sewn anything like this.

And here is the final product.
oh and the zebra fabric is one yard and i used about 1/4 of each of the other fabrics!

And Z LOVES his new blanket and he took it everywhere with him after his surgery which by the way went great and he is happy as ever!
