Trifle

I thought today I'd share my Recipe for my favorite trifle. So here is the Recipe...

Chocolate Delight Trifle!

1 (18 ½ oz) package chocolate cake mix

3 (3 ½ oz) packages instant chocolate pudding mix, (I used regular but you can use sugar free)

2 cups whipped cream

2 Tablespoons confectioners’ sugar

Chocolate sauce or syrup, for garnish (I used Hershey’s syrup)

1 cup peanut butter chips (or your favorite nut) 

Directions

Prepare the cake mix according to package directions and bake in a 13 by 9 pan. Let cool thoroughly, then cut the cake into cubes about the size of walnuts.

Prepare the chocolate pudding according to package directions.

In a medium bowl whip the cream with the sugar until stiff.

To Assemble: In a trifle bowl, layer half the chocolate cake cubes, pudding, whip cream, chocolate sauce or syrup (just drizzle it) and peanut butter chips.  Repeat, layering the remaining ingredients, ending with whip cream. Drizzle decoratively with chocolate sauce or syrup and sprinkle on peanut butter chips.

Feel free to play around with it and use your favorite desserts!

It's V-Day

So I thought I'd share a little V-Day giving and other heart things.  First the little gift I made for each of my two year olds in Sunday school. I used all stampin up things to make it.

Next Pictures of the cute bags I found for each of the kiddos. I had a total of eight but two have been sent to my niece and nephew and two others ave been delivered.  but they looked like these too.

Now to a gift I received from my boys It is the worlds biggest card.  I took a picture of it in front of my TV to try to show you how big it is.

Have you ever melted Heart shaped candles? I have and like the one above in front of the TV have always burnt well...but not these ones...

and last but not lease something to make you laugh.

Touring in Dublin

So we did other touring in Dublin besides the Dublin Castle. Below is a map we got in Dublin and i marked each place we went is marked in red and the hotel is in green. We walked every where and i loved that. We also walked though a few of the parks but i did not mark those.

So i did not take a lot of pictures in Dublin but i really liked the way this chapel looked so I took pictures of it.

We also toured the Guinness Storehouse.

Funny story...so it start to sprinkle when we left Guinness and Andrew suggested to get a taxi but I was enjoying walking though Dublin to much to let a little rain stop us so i voted against the taxi. I also wanted to walk through the Viking/Medieval part of town.  So we take off in that diraction and the rain gets heavier and heavier, We get lost and soacking wet. I'm cracking up and just making the best of it while Andrew is ready to kill me for not getting a taxi. But we make it back to the hotel and get dry.  We then go to dinner at Darwin's. 

This was the BEST steak I've ever eaten. And The beer was Andrew's I was drinking a coke. I've never acquired a taste for beer.

The green arrow is where we sat.  It is a family owed and run restaurant, And they were sooo nice!

That was our last night in Dublin. The next day we headed off to Cork County.

Pin Wheels

So just like the rest of America I was at a Super Bowl Party and we each brought something to eat.  I made pin wheels for the first time and they were a big hit.  So I thought i'd share them with you!

So First Preheat your Oven to 350 Degrees.  Then spread out you Dough (I used Phillisbury Crescent roll) on parchment/wax paper.

 Sread your sauce on your dough. I made two different ones so the top picture is tomato sauce and the bottom one is spicy ranch dressing. 

Then I added the meat, the top one i added chopped up pepperoni( if i had better knives i would have chopped them up more) and the bottom is Bacon

Then you add your cheese. The top one has mozzarella, and the bottom one is cheddar.

Then roll up and put in the fridge to chill.  chilling them helps making cutting them easier.

I then wrapped a string around and pulled tight to cut into pieces.

Spray non-stick on cookie sheet so they don't stick.  cook for 12-15 mins.

when they have turned golden brown on edges pull from oven and remove from cookie sheet and enjoy your masterpieces!

Dublin Castle

                               So I thought I'd share Dublin Castle with you from my visit to Ireland.

The left side of the tower is the castle's private chapel and the right side is the out side of the court yard.

In the Court Yard

It was VERY windy.

Room inside the Castle this is where the inauguration of their President.

Who happened to get elected while we were there.  He will be in office for 7 years and can run a second time.  he also happens to be 80 years old.

This was the Ladies room. back when they woud have parties or a ball this is where the ladies would get ready and where they would retreat during the event. 

The tower is one of the only original pieces of the castle left. 

They have discovered more of the castle below, They made the stairs so only one person could go down/up at a time to prevent attack. these were used by the servants!

First Rainbow we got to see while in Ireland.

Game night

So my family loves having game nights. We are actually having one next Saturday and I'm so excited. We always start with apples to Apples.

We have both of these and switch between them depending on how many friends are playing. We love how the green card turn out and joke that t ones you get describe yourself or personality.

Here is the selection of games we have to choice from.

It use to be WAY fuller but dad and I cleaned it out after Christmas, we took out my brother's games and the ones we had multiples of. The basket on top hold all the card games and extra dice.  

We have a only one rule and that is who ever wins the game has to pick the next game we play. and any game on the shelf is up for grabs.  We also love to enjoy snacks while playing. but this coming up game night included dinner and dessert rather than just snacks.

So Chase LOVES taking pictures. He gets so excited when i bring my camera over. We started out setting the camera down and he would push the button and run and jump in the picture. like this one we did last week.

He then discovered how o wear the camera and take pictures so it is his new favorite way to take pictures. here he is taking pictures.

This on he took unplanned with my camera phone. It is one of my favorite Pictures.  I've found the unplanned photos always turn out the best!

You may have also noticed that in the other photos my hair is shorter. I chopped it off about 3 weeks ago.
